14. Gratitude for work

Welcome to another day of Gratitude
Today we open the possibility of truly loving and finding joy in your work.  Most of us spend more time in the office than we do at home each week and we are unhappy. In an article in The Economist,  a survey in October 2009 showed that confidence in companies on a whole has dropped radically. The economic situation has had a downward domino effect when it comes to corporate having real values in these times. It’s clear that employees are finding it difficult to stay upbeat and have battened down the hatches instead of opening up in Gratitude – the mass consciousness results are evident when we look around… it’s time, time to look up instead of burrow down. Time to get up, dress up and show up as a creative, response-able person!
“If you refuse to change your job
(assuming you don’t like it),
the only other thing you can do is
practice loving it every day.”
- Dr Wayne Dwyer –
You are blessed with skill and talents that can be and are rewarded financially when you are passionate about what you do. Right now you might not be in the position to be doing what you are passionate about, and maybe you are already doing what you’re passionate about but somehow something is missing… what? GRATITUDE!
Gratitude that you have a job, that you have the means to get to the job, that you have the means to keep food on your table and a roof over your head. Simple Gratitude that transforms those feelings of  - I can’t do this job anymore, it’s too tough, they don’t treat me right or (add your specialised complaint in here) into a feeling of being blessed. YOU AND THE UNIVERSE ARE DOING A GREAT JOB OF TAKING CARE OF YOU AND YOURS!
Once you’re in a space of Gratitude for the work you do have, (and if you don’t have a job – be in Gratitude about being able to choose which way you are going now and knowing that you and the Universe are busy cooking something up) it frees you up to be able to start looking at what does “blow your hair back” and has the potential to become your money energy maker. So let the work begin, get out that journal and pen… so how do you discover your gifts and talents?
Heart Thoughts
  • What are the skills you have that people always comment on? Or the gift of making something that people are always excited to receive as a gift?
  • What do you love doing in your spare time? How could you turn this into a career?
  • If there was nothing holding you back – what would you do as a career right now?
Heart Note
Everyone knows the truth of it – they know what they would love to be doing as a career. So now that you know, start planning how to make it so.  Remember, the only thing holding you back is YOU! Money and circumstances can be worked with to your advantage, so don’t give yourself that excuse not to go forth and CRANK IT UP, you have outgrown your smallness.
Parting shot… Do what you love or love what you do in Gratitude and you will find your passion, your energy, your drive… your bliss. Remember Marianne Williamson’s incredible poem from her book, A Return to Love? “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate… click here - print it out and put it up  somewhere to remind you.
In Gratitude
Mish
